Branko Marjanovic and Judie Popplewell were part of a cohort of over a dozen artists who hosted individual Artists Studios as part of the Western Showcase, one of features of the Calgary Stampede, an annual event that attracts over a million visitors.
Ron Czemeres and Lori Clipperton had their work juried into the Western Showcase Art Gallery into the 2018 Art Gallery show. Lori had her paintings in the Miniature Masterpieces on the Salon Wall. Lori noted that the Stampede “Stir-up” (Buyers’ Night) on July 4th was well attended by art enthusiasts and artists. It’s a great way to start off the Art portion of the Calgary Stampede. During the Stampede Lori demonstrated her “Alcohol Ink” processes during two of the “Artist InSite” events.
Judie Popplewell was juried into the Artists Studio in the BMO Centre in the Calgary Stampede Western Art Show for the 19th time. Judie was present in her Studio everyday for 12 hours and received numerous commissions that “will keep her busy during those long winter months”. Judie prepared the board on which she painted Round and Round, with pouring medium mixed with which gave it “a mosaic, glittering texture.” Judie’s paintings were on display at Art on 9th, a gallery run by Jimm and Michelle Holland that has recently featured paintings by Calgary Chapter members Tammy Fischer, Janie Lockwood, Tracy Proctor, Judie Popplewell, Sheila Schaetzle, and Sharon-Lynn Williams.
Congratulations to those whose paintings were juried into recent Federation Gallery shows including:
